Every bottle of Spearmint Hand Cream begins in our Florida garden. Janice harvests fresh spearmint leaves, grown outdoors year-round in Tallahassee's subtropical climate, and slow-infuses them in organic apricot kernel and grapeseed oils for six to eight weeks. No shortcuts, no essential oil dilution: the whole leaf gives up its cooling, aromatic character directly to the oil. Once the infusion is finished, we blend it with velvety mango butter and beeswax from a local Tallahassee beekeeper, then fold in a touch of lavender essential oil for a soft, floral finish, along with a little Vitamin E to help keep the oils fresh. The formula is entirely waterless, no added water to dilute the infused oils. Yes, the herbs in our infusions are grown in our own Tallahassee garden and infused whole. The oils, beeswax, and essential oils that finish each formula come from trusted suppliers.
No, and it does not need them. Every InVine formula is waterless. Microbes need water to grow, so there is nothing for a preservative to protect against. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that keeps the oils fresh, not a preservative. Keep the bottle closed and keep water out of it.
Keep it below about 75°F and out of direct sunlight. Botanical formulas can soften in summer heat, if that happens in transit, let the bottle rest at room temperature and it will settle back down.
